ABOUT THE LIBRARY

Hi, my name is Heather Rowan, and I'm excited  become a Dragon and join Ms. Cantu in the BS Means Library this year.   As a former science teacher, I am looking forward to helping students get messy as we expand our Makerspace into the green room, integrate Hour of Code into science classes, and start our first Robotics Club.  I will be coordinating our parent volunteers and collaborating with the STEM teachers on new lessons and activities. I enjoy baking, playing with my bunny, Lily, and reading great new YA fiction--I'm always interested in your book recommendations

The librarians at Means believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to enjoy a good book, grow as a reader and learner, and discover herself through exploration.  By working with teachers in the library and their classrooms, we develop literacy, research skills, and net citizenship.

The library webpage is designed to help  students and parents connect with events and activities at the library and access library resources from home.  Library Resource pages provide students with a springboard for independent learning or extra help with class assignments.

The staff section includes libguides for curriculum and planning, professional learning tools and past PD session recordings, technology checkout and room availability, and educational databases.
